Banksy Zine
University Project
A hand cut and sown
zine on Banksy.
zine on Banksy.
For this project, I created a zine inspired by the visual language of Banksy, translating his iconic street art style into a printed, editorial format. The design draws on his raw, stencil-based aesthetic, combining high-contrast imagery, bold compositions, and a deliberately unpolished feel to echo the immediacy of work found in public space. A strong emphasis was placed on making by hand: I created a custom stencil for the cover and incorporated hand-drawn elements alongside spray-paint techniques to build layered textures and depth. By reinterpreting these characteristics within a structured zine format, the project explores how a transient, urban art style can be adapted into a tactile and collectable printed piece while maintaining its original attitude and impact.
